Collingwood Hyundai joins a growing list of community champions who have helped make the new facility possible
Wasaga Beach – With grand opening celebrations for the Town of Wasaga Beach’s new Wasaga Stars Arena and Wasaga Beach Public Library fast approaching, the Town is announcing the latest community champion to come forward.
Collingwood Hyundai has donated $25000 in support of the cost of building, delivering and sustaining the Town’s spectacular new twin-pad arena and library, which officially opened to the public on January 29, 2024.
“The Town of Wasaga Beach’s new Wasaga Stars Arena and Wasaga Beach Public Library project has brought our community together in our efforts to fundraise and build it,” said Mayor Brian Smith. “We are incredibly thankful to all of our donors and community champions, including Collingwood Hyundai, for their generous contributions.”
Collingwood Hyundai managing partner, Adam Nigro, shared his business’s motivation for donating to the project, which will see the local business invest $5000 per year over five years to secure naming rights for the lounge within the library:
“Libraries and arenas mean a lot to a community. They serve as hubs for social interaction, learning, and community engagement. Many of Collingwood Hyundai’s staff and their families live in Wasaga Beach and have grown up in the area. We are excited that they will be able to use and benefit from all of the amenities that the new Wasaga Stars Arena and Wasaga Beach Public Library offers, for years to come.
Our donation is a commitment to leaving a positive legacy for future generations. We believe in building a foundation that will continue to benefit our community long after the initial contribution, creating enduring value for years to come.
In making this donation, Collingwood Hyundai is expressing our gratitude to the community of Wasaga Beach, which has so warmly supported us, and allowed us to be their trusted Hyundai Dealer for the last 12 years.”
Damoun Pourbazargan, a senior district sales manager, added his perspective:
“The local arena is where many of us share memorable moments with our friends and family, watching sports events, concerts, or even participating in activities. They provide a sense of camaraderie and connection with our community. In addition, libraries are places for learning, offering access to countless resources – and they are a safe space for so many people within a community. Together, the new Wasaga Stars Arena and Wasaga Beach Public Library facility is more than its bricks and mortar. It is a community hub that will foster a sense of belonging in the broader community.”
Val Saplak, administrative assistant, added:
“We’re proud to support this project, which will continue to provide a range of programs and services that promote and support physical health, mental well-being and community engagement.”
Katelyn Patrick, sales and leasing, emphasized the team’s focus on inclusivity:
“Our team at Collingwood Hyundai is proud to support this project and to support an inclusive, welcoming environment for people of all ages and backgrounds. Our donation aims to support initiatives that ensure the new Wasaga Stars Arena and Wasaga Beach Public Library remains accessible to everyone, promoting a sense of belonging for all community members.”
Adam Rolfe, service manager, added:
“Our team is looking forward to the grand opening celebrations and the Breaking the Ice Festival, and we are eager to see and experience the variety of activities the facility will host. From community events to sports tournaments, we see this space as a catalyst for bringing people together in celebration. We are excited about the potential for growth, innovation, and continued community building that this contribution represents.”
