The Sign By-law sets out regulations for signs used for business identification or advertising purposes.
The Sign permits are issued and enforced by the Wasaga Beach Municipal Law Enforcement Department (By-law) and in some cases will require a building permit.

The Wasaga Beach Sign By-law sets out regulations for signs used for business identification or advertising purposes. Sign permits are issued and enforced by the Wasaga Beach Municipal Law Enforcement Department (By-law). If a proposed sign meets mandated criteria established in Part 3 of the Ontario Building Code, a building permit is also required. In this case, a site plan and drawings must also be provided to and approved by the Building and Development Standards Department. Non-Compliance |
Municipal Law Enforcement Officers enforce the Sign By-law on a proactive and reactive basis. Where an Officer observes a sign that doesn’t comply with one of the by-laws, the Officer may provide notice remove the sign or remove the sign at the owners expense. The owner of a property and the owner of a sign are both responsible for compliance with the by-laws and can be held responsible for non-compliance. Where an Officer removes a non-compliant sign, the owner may purchase the sign back by paying the sign return fees contained in the current Fees & Charges By-law. |
