Proclamation: Senior's Month

June is proclaimed Senior's Month!

WHEREAS the month of June marks forty-years of celebrating Seniors’ Month in the Province of Ontario; and

WHEREAS this year’s theme ‘Working for Seniors’ emphasizes the continued importance of supporting older adults through the right programs and initiatives that provide wellness, social engagement and education in our community; and

WHEREAS the Town of Wasaga Beach is an age-friendly community and includes, outdoor spaces and buildings that are accessible for seniors, provides accessible communication about services and programs, and social and civic participation opportunities for all seniors; and

WHEREAS the Town of Wasaga Beach recognizes that senior citizens play an important role and contribute immensely to our community’s development and we can all benefit from their wisdom, friendship, and experience; and

WHEREAS we are committed to Working for Seniors, and thank those seniors who act as leaders, mentors, volunteers and active members in our community; and 

THEREFORE, I, Mayor Brian Smith, on behalf of the Council of Wasaga Beach, do hereby proclaim June 2024 as “Seniors’ Month” in the Town of Wasaga Beach.
