The following statement was issued today by Mayor Nina Bifolchi:
"On behalf of town council, staff, and all residents of Wasaga Beach, I extend deepest sympathies to The Queen’s family.
Her Majesty’s passing brings to a close a truly remarkable life – one devoted to service for so many decades.
Since 1952, Her Majesty has reigned as Queen of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth realms. Her several visits to Canada over the years – a country she loved dearly – remain a cherished memory for many.
Out of the greatest respect for Her Majesty, flags at town buildings will be at half-mast and a book of condolences will be set up in the lobby at town hall, 30 Lewis St.
Long live The King."
