The Town of Wasaga Beach is introducing extended evening transit service and encouraging people to plan safe rides home from this weekend's Burton Cummings and Blue Rodeo concerts.
The Town is asking people to use designated drivers and consider carpooling or using public transit on Saturday, Feb 17 and Sunday Feb 18:
- Buses on Route 1 and Route 2 will operate with extended evening hours until midnight, both nights.
- The Town is also offering a free shuttle service to move people to the shows from free municipal parking lots that are further away. The shuttle will depart from the Playland Parking Lot at Beach Area 1.
Today the Town is also sharing important tips to help guests reduce unnecessary delays when they arrive at the new Wasaga Stars Arena for the weekend's spectacular live performances.
For example, to avoid unnecessary delays during the check-in process, the Town is asking ticket-holders to please leave large bags and purses at home. Bags and purses larger than 4.5 inches x 6.5 inches will be subject to a security check.
"We want everyone to have fun and that's why we're encouraging everyone to take the time to plan ahead, and be prepared. Plan safe rides home, plan where you will park if the new Wasaga Stars Arena parking lot is full -- and take advantage of the extended evening public transit service, free parking and free shuttle service that the Town has organized this weekend," said Mayor Brian Smith.
Residents and visitors can find everything they need to know about show times, parking, free shuttle service and more, on the Showpass event page where they purchased tickets:
