Wasaga Beach – The Town of Wasaga Beach has launched a last-minute-gift contest to promote it's Breaking the Ice Festival taking place from February 10 to February 19, 2024 which features headliners Blue Rodeo and Burton Cummings.
“The Town of Wasaga Beach is thrilled to have Canadian icons Blue Rodeo and Burton Cummings perform in our new, state-of-the-art arena and library,” said Mayor Brian Smith. “It will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we’ve still got some of the best seats in the house still available. It’s the perfect gift for the person on your list who has everything.”
To enter to win two free tickets before the holidays, fans simply need to post to Facebook with a video message, sharing which band they want to see live in Wasaga Beach and who they would like to take with them.
To be entered into the contest, all video posts must be public on Facebook before 11:59pm EST on Wednesday December 20, 2023 and:
- tag the Town of Wasaga Beach (@TownofWasagaBeach and @ExploreWasagaBeach)
- tag the band you want to see: Blue Rodeo or Burton Cummings
- tag the person/people you want to bring with you
- use the hashtag #50YearsofSunshine
The pre-holiday contest starts 7pm EST on December 8, 2023 and closes at 11:59pm EST on December 20, 2023. No purchase is necessary. Four lucky winners will be selected and announced on Facebook on December 21,2023.

- Winners of multiple Juno Awards and Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame inductees, Blue Rodeo and Burton Cummings, will lead the show-stopping line-up of iconic Canadian performers that have signed on to Wasaga’s Breaking the Ice Festival, which will celebrate the Town’s 50th anniversary and the grand opening of its new state-of-the-art, NHL-size arena and library.
- Tickets for both concerts went on sale Nov 21, 2023 and they are going fast. As of December 8, more than 2500 tickets have been sold.
